Riverbend Residence
New Orleans, Louisiana
This 1953 John Dinwiddie residence in New Orleans’ Riverbend neighborhood was renovated to create a more refined, high-style atmosphere while respecting the home’s original scale and character. The redesign integrates mid-century modern furniture with French antiques, contemporary art, and layered, textured materials. Outdoors, the backyard was transformed into an expansive living space featuring a pool, linear fountain, and lush plantings.

“ ‘Absence of color,’ says Ledbetter, ‘forces our attention to form, shadows, texture, light.’ Installed above a grand piano in his New Orleans living room, the otherworldly white light in Hiroshi Sugimoto’s photograph Bay of Sagami, Atami corrals a group of white objects together, including Peter Lane’s birch-bark ceramic vessel, Frank Gehry’s porcelain candlesticks, and a Nymphenburg porcelain skull.”
